There are two main reasons to consider a MWGO Registered Maine Guide: All MWGO member guides have pledges to abide by the MWGO Code of Ethics, one of which is to maintain standards that are higher than those required by the state. For example MWGO strongly encourages our member guides to maintain current first aid and CPR certification. MWGO is the leader in offering ongoing guide training and development opportunities for our members. Secondly MWGO guides walk the talk in terms of conservation. We advocate for remote wildlife habitat, protection of our native fisheries, and areas for self propelled backcountry travel. We understand the importance of being conservation stewards of the areas we rely upon for our livelihoods and for future generations. All guides listed in the Find a Guide category are members in good standing. They have pledged to maintain the MWGO code of ethics |
